Originally from Whangarei, Ted’s family moved to Henderson when he was 5. Ted grew up in West Auckland and at 14 became an apprenticed Jockey, weight quickly bought that career to and end.
Ted’s career path has seen him qualify as an A Grade Mechanic which led him into Business ownership when he started his own garage workshop in the 1970’s.
Ted came to South Auckland for 1 days work to fix a Truck for Thoroughbred Horse Transport about 30 years ago and has been here ever since. Ted started Ingram Truck Painters Ltd in the late 1980’s and built this business to be the largest Automotive spray painting business in Australasia before selling as a going concern. He then owned a local sport shop for 3 years before entering this Real Estate industry in the late 1990’s.
Ted quickly rose to be in the top 2% of earners in New Zealand. He became an Auctioneer in 2001 and progressed to owning Ray White Papakura in 2005. Ted’s Papakura office has consistently been in the top 20 Ray White offices in NZ. Ray White recently held its annual Auctioneering Championships which resulted in Ted being named as Ray White Auctioneer of the year for 2009. He recently opened a new office in Waiuku and looks forward to the exciting times ahead. Ted always says “Shoot for the moon, if you miss you will land in the stars.”
